Hengameh Shahidi, a journalist who was detained for  four months this summer and was released on bail on November 1, 2009, has been arrested and transferred to Evin prison again. Shahidi was active in Mehdi Karroubi’s presidential election campaign.

Shahidi’s lawyer, Mohammad Mostafaee wrote in his blog about this: “It was about 11:30 a.m. this morning when I received a call. I could hear Hengameh’s mothers voice on the line. In between sobs she said ‘Mr. Mostafaee, yesterday afternoon someone called from the Ministry of Information. He talked to Hengameh and told her to go to an address the next morning at 10:00 a.m. to provide some explanations. This morning at 10:00 a.m. she went to that address, they arrested her and transferred her to Evin. It’s not clear why they arrested her.”

Mostafaee continues: “On Saturday I will go to Revolutionary Courts to find out the reason for my client’s arrest. Hengameh’s mental and psychological condition was very unsuitable. I hope God gives her and her family patience to tolerate this.”
