Here in the USA too many women don't get involved in Standing up for the Women that are oppressed in Iran. And in other country's as well. It is amazing to see how despicable men are towards women, and in the name of religion.
This is not the way to treat women, especially journalist, who are there to report the truth. The plight of these women and all the women in IRAN should be out more in the US media.

Teresa Lewis, a white woman of 41 years, will be executed Thursday in Virginia for having ordered the murder of her husband
and the son of the latter. The conservative governor of Virginia Bob McDonnell, has again refused, Tuesday, September 21,
to grant pardon, and the last resort of the condemned was also dismissed in the day by the Supreme Court
USA. But the abolitionists cite a case study showing the injustice of the death penalty. In the United States where
sixty convicted waiting in the 'death row' cons 3200 condemned the execution of a woman is a fact
rare. Only eleven women have been put to death since the reinstatement of capital punishment in 1976 for 1215 men.

The issue of woman in Islam was clear and never debated among Muslims. Allah (swt) created men and women and legislated general responsibilities for both, such as carrying the Daw'ah and holding the rulers accountable, in addition to designating specific responsibilities for each gender. Muslims acknowledged that sovereignty belongs to Allah, and the rules related to both men and women are Islamic rules deduced through ijtihad based upon the daleel. It was implicitly recognized among Muslims that the process of ijtihad and the concept of daleel are not sex-dependent, and thus, a ''male'' or ''female'' understanding of Islam never emerged.

The Association Women for Peace the Netherlands is concerned about the prosecution, the imprisonment and disappearance of many capable Iranian women. We urge the government of Iran to give information about the fate of the arrested women, and to protect the human rights activists in order for them to be able to stand for their right for free speech.
