I think the practice of executing minors is barbaric in Iran. the worst case I heard of was a13 year old who was executed after she had been attacked sexually by an adult male. He was give lashes, she was hanged in public.
Iran likes to try and deflect criticism by pointing out flaws in other countries but the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran. leads the field in so many ways. We know their attitude to children from the Iran/Iraq war when they brainwashed children to run across land mines laid down by Saddam Hussein amongst his many abhorrent practices.

I’m researching for my English project, which involves a speech about any subject that we feel strongly about, and after reading this article, I think i’ve found it.

I myself am Iranian, currently living in the UK and knowing that this disguisting practice goes on in Iran makes me think twice about being a proud Iranian. Knowing that teenagers the same age as me are getting murdered by the governement horrifies me, and quite frankly, ashamed to be of the same nationality as those who recognise this as a just and fair practice.

Furthermore, I do not understand why nothing has been done about this – America is the most powerful country in the world, so surely they could intervene and abolish this sinister and cruel act!

Such a funny post. I have not seen the Iranian government irrationally bomb and deliberately murder thousands upon thousands of non Jewish innocent civilians as the Israelis are doing in Lebanon and Palestine. Bombings that target children and include schools, air raid shelters, private homes, hospitals, etc…

Perhaps the people of Palestine and Lebanon are not human enough to be worthy of your human rights campaign / propaganda.

It is deplorable that the Iranian government is killing young people, and moreover, violating all of the human rights laws which we enjoy in the west. The government should yield to the people and allow a democratic government to emerge.

Iran also carries out death penalties against young people for things that do not under any circumstances , constitute crime. They routinely kill young men by hanging , who are accused of being homosexual , a state of being. Iran’s brutality is irrational and primitive. Their saving grace may be the fact that such a large percentage of their population is inder the age of twenty. Thus there may be hope for the future. The secret police , Savak , under the Shah , killed thousands of opponents. The Ayatollah Khomeinei , came to power with the promise of establishing democracry . Insead he set up a barbaric theocracy that killed hundreds of thousands of innocent Iranians.
